The garden viewed from the train

The garden is made up of a series of small garden areas with the railway linking them up. The best way to view the garden is from the carriage as you travel round the garden. There are some hidden corners, lots of unusual plants to see, a few owls and metal sculptures

Starting at the front garden turntable there are two showy clematis Pink Champagne and Hagley Hybrid covering the fence, and just starting to creep round onto the rustic metal trellis along the front garden wall:-

The track continues under the Holly tree passed the new Yellow Bed (this small bed is for Jonathan with the only yellow flowers in the garden):-

The track curves round through the gate in the trellis to a new large blue and white bed on the right:-

There is a small bed on the left, with Richard’s trellis in front of the decking area. Plants in here are scented:

You next pass the water feature an old lead pipe trickles down slate into a wash trough.

You continue up passing the shed with a small walled flower bed on the left:-

Next is the rose tunnel covered with the Wedding Day rose Clematis and honeysuckle, opening out into the evening seating area leading to an improved garden area on three levels using railway sleepers and limestone rocks found in the garden:-

Continuing on the train we pass the new carriage shed and under the new archway (made from old welded railway track), which climbers are starting to cover over.

Next in view is my favourite; the scree bed. You travel down the side of this on raised railway sleeper:-

You now have arrived at the upper station terminus and the turntable. Once the engine is turned, pause to look at the planters and look over to the shady bed:-

If the signal arm is up it’s time for the return trip lots more plants to view; there is small bed on the right just before going under the rose arch. There are lots of pots and planters in every available space.

This is just a brief overview of a few of my favourite plants in the garden. Please E-mail me if you have any queries about my plants.
